Ethan DeVoe Lussier was born on March 9 2009 weighing 6 lbs 14.8oz and 19.5 inches long. I'm not going to lie-it was probably the most difficult yet fulfilling experience of my life.
I went into labor on Saturday at 10:30pm and finally delivered at 2:17am on Monday...we went into the hospital on Sunday morning, but were ultimately sent home-we went back again at 3pm and were finally admitted at 6pm. Thigns were progressing slowly so the doctor ordered Potocin(SP?), yet not beofre I got my epidural-it was Glorious to not feel the contractions any longer. Unfortunately my epidural began to wear off right around the time I began pushing and was told the anesthesiologist would not be avail-fortunately we finished with the c-section in time to up my dosage. I pushed for about an hour, but Ethan was stubborn and didn't want to come out, the Doctor decided to use the forceps and a couple of pushes later-Justin and I had our new son! I'm so glad we waited and didn't find out what we were having-it was such a great surprise. It was also a funny coincidence that it was our delivery doctors' birthday as well.
Ethan lost a little more weight than was suggested at the hospital and we were a little worried, but went to the Doctor today and his weight increased greatly since yesterday which was a great sign-I'm already a mother that worries too much!!!!!
We're adjusting to life at home and the days seem to fly by-pretty soon my maternity time will be over :(
